Precious Moments.....or something like that!

*Update - I have learned that Mrs. Kate is Kennedy's spanish teacher*

Kennedy has been saying some of the funniest things lately. I keep thinking...."man I need to write that down, or if I only could have caught that on video." So...this is going to be my way of doing just that - writing some of it down and sharing some of the things I actually have managed to catch on video.

On Monday night I ran with my friend Courtney after work and when I got home Daddy already had Kennedy in the bath. I wanted to spend some time with her so I ate my dinner while sitting on the potty talking to her about her day. Oh the things we do to be near the ones we love, right? Anyhow.....she starts to tell me that she played in the foundry at school (the gym) and that her Daddy picked her up in her classroom and then the conversation went something like this:

Kennedy: and then I got an attitude
Me: You got an attitude? What do you mean?
Kennedy: I got an attitude because I wasn't not listening to Daddy
Me: ohhhhh....not listening to Daddy is not a good thing is it Kennedy? Keep in mind I was stifling a smile because I am thinking "since when does my kid say "I got an attitude?"" Seriously?!
Kennedy: no, I not. Mommy, do you see all my big bubbles?
Me (internally): and just like that the teaching moment is over!

Today after she and I finished showering (yes, together = timesaver!) I was blow drying her hair and she puts her two little precious feet on my stomach while she sat on the counter and said the following "Mommy, is there a baby in your belly". Now...of course I said, "no - honey. Who do you know who has a baby in their belly (totally anticipating she'd say Aunt Neenie) and she said Mrs. Kate." "Really, I said. Who Is Mrs. Kate?" She stared at me as if to say "you know Mommy - Mrs. Kate!!!!". I am still not very certain who Mrs. Kate is but I am assuming it is someone she has interacted with at either school or church but I am sad to report that wherever Mrs. Kate is she is pregnant and apparently I look like her. I just hope she's a cute pregger because that is the ONLY way that could make this any better. I mean - I have no defense seeing as how she was born 2.5 years ago clearly the belly that remains is the belly that according to my toddler looks as though a baby is in it. . I claim terrible two's to be behind the reason for such brutal honesty. Ouch!

On to the videos: :
In this first video we are reading a book that I checked out of the library last week. She loves it and her reaction each time I read it is priceless so I asked Tim to film me reading it one night so I could share her reaction.

This video was taken one night before we went to bed. It's no secret that I am a believer in medicine - if somethings hurting there is a remedy. Every now and then Kennedy will tell me her bottom is hurting. More for her psyche than anything else I will say "oh it is, let's put some cream on it". Typically I just use diaper rash cream or something but apparently she was under the impression I was using toothpaste! Ha!

Here my little singer is belting out some "deep and wide" - an oldie but a goodie!

This video was taken on the morning of my birthday. I got some amazingly funny cards this year and when I sat down to open all the cards I had received I laughed....alot. A few minutes after I sat the cards down, I noticed she was opening them and laughing at each one. Just when you think they aren't watching....they are. Here is the little copycat:

Kennedy loves Kidstuf at our church and every now and then they sing "Oh Happy Day" and she LOVES it. I love that we get to hear her sing it throughout the week even more. If you've not heard this version, check it out here.

Tim caught her singing this one day while we were busying around the house. How cute is it that she's totally in her own little world.

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!
