Hello from Edisto Island

So far our beach vacation has been amazing. I love breaks like these except for the part where you realize it is going to come to an end. We left Lexington on Friday night and arrived in Atlanta around 1:30 AM on Saturday. The joys of long trips with a potty training toddler! Yikes. Thankfully we have a travel potty and praise Jesus for that or we would have been stopping every other exit (I am NOT over exaggerating either). I keep telling myself we are saving a ton on diapers so I should be thankful but oh how I wanted to scream "just go in your pull-up" (travel and night night panties as we like to call them) but I didn't.

Saturday was full of visiting with my Grandparents. It was so nice to see them and as some of you know my Grandmothers health is fading fast so every moment is more precious than the one before right now. They watched Kennedy play in my Aunt's pool and just ate her up.

We left Saturday after Kennedy's nap and got to Edisto around 7:30 or so. We watched Cinderella I, II, and III more times than I care to admit but we made it safely and Kennedy was extremely well behaved. Since we got here we have spent our mornings exercising (gotta beat the heat in the lowcountry), and going to the beach and then when the kiddo's go down for naps we pour adult beverages and play corn hole until the kids wake up and then they play in the pool until supper time. It's the best!

Tonight was our night to cook and I made spring shells - a Pioneer Woman pasta recipe and it was a big ole' hit around here. Everyone loved it! After supper Tim, Kennedy, Melissa, Steve and I went to the beach to get some pictures of Kennedy as well as some family pictures. I took them all on film so I don't have any of those to show you but I do have some other much anticipated pictures.........

Our car - I know, it's ridiculous. Notice the key potty spot to your left - essential!

The little area you see carved out in yellow is where the kid sits.

Oh....you thought that was all our stuff? Silly you!

The good thing is, we will be coming back with much less because we won't have all the groceries. I am glad I pre-purchased those too because our milk was $4/half gallon at the single Piggly Wiggly on the island. It's a 35 minute drive to the next closest grocery! That is what you call CRAZY!!!

Me and my grandparents

Kennedy does one of three things while we travel:

1. Sleeps - we love it when this happens because it is like the old days - peaceful trips in the car. Those are few and far between anymore.

2. Eats, better known as "nack" in Kennedy language = snack for most of us

3. Watches "Ceeyaya" which is Kennedy for Cinderella

She is having a big ole' time with Anne Hensley

I am having a blast watching her. She mostly just wants to swim but here is some rare time on the sand with Mommy.

So....we look like the Griswalds...so what!?!?

Well, later this afternoon Tim, Kennedy and I will depart for Atlanta to see my grandmother and then head on to the beach tomorrow afternoon to stay for the rest of the week. My grandmother is in very poor health and I want to spend as much time with her as possible ~ I really cannot imagine life without her in it. I am excited for she and my Grandaddy to see Kennedy too because it has been a while and my word how quickly she changes!

Our car....oh my goodness...our car. I am going to try to take a picture of it before we depart just to amuse y'all. We will FO SHO look like the Griswalds rolling down to South Carolina. I told my sister this morning at least we have an excuse....our license plate will say Kentucky so no one will think a thing about it: ha! It's amazing the things you have to pack for a child - the pack and play, the beach toys, the clothes, the potty, the list is endless. Also...whats a vacation without cornhole, so we are taking ours and that is no compact item. Whew! Packing is exhausting. It will all be worth it though - yay for vacay!

This week was a busy one. We were not only prepping for vacation but Tim's parents were here visiting and also helping us pack the house up for our big move which is approaching way quicker than I care to even think about - yuck! Oh the adoration my child has for her Nana and Pawpaw - it's just simply precious. She just loves them...I understand why - I do too. Bless their hearts - who can say their parents would use their vacation to help them move? I CAN and I know how blessed I am - believe me. So...we got a lot accomplished and the visit was lovely. They are now on their way to a real vacation - one where relaxing is involved. =)

I looked at some more properties yesterday as we still haven't found a house. I put an offer on one but we lost out to a higher offer. Must not have been God's special house for us. I know he has a plan....I have to keep repeating that as my mantra. I feel so fortunate that we were able to sell our house and I feel confident that we are making the best decision for our financial future but boy is it tough. It's requiring a tad bit more patience than I am used to having but I am trying. Note to self and to all my millions of readers(ha) - don't ever own more than 3 pets at a time!!!! Once you get to my level of pet population things get REALLY tricky. Now I know. Anyhow - please pray that we would have wisdom in picking out the property that the Lord has in store for us - I know it's out there somewhere and I know once we get it I will look back and think "that's why we didn't get those other houses". Timing...timing....timing.

Anyhow..I am going to leave you with a video clip of a song that is one of my current favorites. The church we have been going to sings this song often during the weekend services and although it is unusual - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. I hope you do too......be patient through the slow beginning because I promise she delivers strong in the middle.

Unintentional

So my blogcation or blogiatus hasn't been intentional but man has life gotten busy for Team Taylor! We sold our house this past Friday: can I get a Praise Jesus! Yay! The search is on now and we officially have to be out of the house by July 30th. We started our search on Sunday and it wasn't good and then I continued solo yesterday and it was much more promising. My always generous mother in law is coming into town tomorrow afternoon so that I can go knock out several property visits with my realtor without precious Kennedy in tow. I think this search is going to be challenging, but I am trusting that the Lord will provide the perfect new Taylor residence when the time is right. Please keep us in your prayers!

Our Memorial Day weekend with the Taylors was awesome - we had such a good time just visiting and playing with Kennedy. She is one spoiled little grandbaby - let me just tell you!

Kennedy Loves Her Nana!

Bug Hunting with Nana and Pawpaw

In Other Kennedy news - guess who is officially potty trained? I feel terrified just saying those holy words - I hope it's final but it surely seems that way. We have been in big girl panties for two weeks now and have had very few accidents (some of which have been Mommy's fault I am afraid to admit). Check her out:

Now these are boring old training pants but we have now graduated to Kennedy selected Princess Panties - so cute!

Summer is now upon us and we have been watering plants and having some pool time with friends and I hope there is much more of that to come. These next two months bring lots of business though: house hunting, Tim's birthday and Fathers Day, Beach Week with the family, my sisters wedding, and Chelsea's departure (gasp, sob, wheeze!). Goodness Gracious!

I am so proud that my daughter can find joy in a pool full of rednecks and a two dollar watering can - bring on the summer fun!

As for a p90x update - I am still going strong though my husband has decided to take up running on Tuesdays and Thursdays so my routine is a little off. I am not about to say a word though - I am just happy he's getting active. Go Daddy! I am officially 6 pounds away from my goal weight so I am getting closer (even if it's ever so slowly). The countdown for the beach is on so I am definitely going to keep "working on my fitness" in the brilliant words of Fergie Ferg.
